Camp Russell, BSA - established 1918
When Samuel T. Russell made the initial gift of land to the Boy Scouts in 1918 he started a tradition that has lasted over 93 years. His love of the outdoors, dedication to nature and compassion for young people motivated him to forge a bond with Scouts that has survived to this day. If Sam Russell could walk the 280 acres that now make up "his camp" we think he would be delighted.
From an idea, Camp Russell has become one of the premier camps in the country. Each year it serves over 700 Scouts and Scouters. For 93 years the Camp Russell philosophy has been to provide a first class program, by a first class staff, at a first class facility. That was a winning combination in 1918 and is a winning combination today.
